The Official Avatar Thread

There were a lot of threads about avatar issues. My goal is to consolidate all of the relevant posts into this one thread and to post updates as I receive them. Please only post in this thread if you have found a solution to this temporary bug or if you want to tell me how awesome I am. Our programmers are hunting down the cause of this and will murder it in cold blood. All old posts about this issue have been deleted. All other repetitious or irrelevant posts about avatars will be deleted. Sorry in advance if you liked the post I deleted.

My first piece of advice is to ditch Internet Explorer. This advice will actually benefit your internet experience as a whole. I recommend using one of the following browsers:

Safari or Firefox

I, personally, use Safari. Both of these browsers will work for PC and Mac.

Uploading your avatars as a PNG file and as a perfect square yields the best results.

    Okay, i have tried using all IE, Safari & FireFox, but it's not uploading my avatar on any of them, just coming up that the "URL Already exists!"
    Any help? :(

    exactly my problem.
    and writing to the email one gave me at another thread wasnt a success either.
    just got a pre-writed answere and nothing that solves the problem.

    Urghhh, sammme. I tried Firefox and Safari as well and it continues not to woork >:(

    internet explorer is a cheap peice of shit, dump it leave it protest it. there cheap on free stuff. ive never had an avatar problem but then again... ive NEVER used internet explorer on this site if your using IE and have ANY problems online; its most likely IE fault. ditch it

    hmmm try chrome if you want to know where to download it the links most likely on youtubes homepage
