I love the Neverset boys...they're so fun! I took some of them on their first NYC subway ride. They thought they were gonna get mugged or murdered. It was so adorable. LOL.

I have a friend who used to live in Texas so she introduced me to Faktion and Meriwether as well as Neverset.

the only local band i know.....and they're from evansville IN is a band called NAKED!!

these guys are awesome and i hope one day they will make it big...they're my friends and i respect their music &&plus they're funny as shit they have great personalities!!! the band consist of 4 brothers and they just started a couple years ago....when i mean start i mean that's the first time some of them even played the guitar or drums!! they are more of a punk rock band.....green day is they're big inspiration.

another local band i love is velcro pygmies i think they're from louisville KY...but they are amazing.......i think some of they're songs are avail. on itunes:]

anyone from scotland should check out gap year riot...they're awesome. ....and a new band that just startin in Glasgow called The Junx....they hard core rock n roll.

I know you said besides the big name bands, but the All-American Rejects are from here in Stillwater.

And my favorite small local bands are Violence to Vegas [They just opened for PR and A7x], they're from Tulsa [that's an hour drive for me.], and First Lady Assassins

there aren't really many bands around here at all, esp good ones at that.

Parmalee is a great band from North Carolina. I saw them on July 4th and they rocked! They're opening for PR on August 2 at the HOB. Check 'em out:

There used to be a band called Adire. My boyfriend's old band actually played a show with them once, but I'm assuming they broke up. Their Myspace page only has pictures of the vocalist now & the songs are only him singing acoustic. They were from TN, but they played shows here in North Wilkesboro. NC.
