Joan Jett IS WAYYYYY MORE HARDCORE; & STILL WORKING in the music industry, just not at the top of the charts doing gigs & making records & shows. Doesnt mean she couldnt, SHE MOST DEF COULD. She practically epitomized female Heavy Metal & Punk Rock.
Pat Benatar was definitely softer, but had an undeniably GORGEOUS VOICE & inspirational style. She is a true iconic female rocker.

Halestorm hands down :) I don't listen to a lot of female fronted bands, but there is this band called Buried By Design who has SUCH a kickass female vocalist, I'd suggest checking em out :)
