For those that said the PS3 has no problems they are wrong. If you buy a PS3 make sure it's the new slim one. That one does not have any problems. The old fat one did have a problem known as the YLOD or yellow light of death. Mine got it.

Other than that the system is great. If you connect the PS3 to the TV using an HDMI cable you are gonna get the best HD video game console that graphics are that much better. The games is a matter of taste. I love car games and soon they are gonna release some great car titles, such as Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Gran Turismo 5. (not the prologue)

As for shooting games idk much about them but the PS3 has some good tittles and so does the xbox. I prefer the interface of the PS3 over that of the Xbox. It's similar to that of the PSP only better. (4 those of u that used the psp u know what it's like)

I prefer the playstation control. they are also gonna release a remote similar to the wiimote. I am not so interested in it and u will not be required to have it. I thinl few games are gonna make use of it.

If you use a mac, tho I am sure there is a windows equivalent you can get nullriver to send all of the stuff you have in iTunes, such as movies, videos, songs, etc to your PS3 and watch them in the living room.

Well many people love PS3 because it's new , but XBox 360 is better because every game you play on XBox have true graphic. I just love the God of War games on Ps... I have a PS 2 and a PSP and trust me PSP is better than PS2.... but XBOX is the king.

Wii's for kids, 360s for self heal fps, 3rd person run and gun shooter lovers, ps3s a crashing bag of poo, freezing all the time, online games are buggy as hell.
I put up with it because 360 pads are awful and I can't stand the type of games it has. And it has no web browser.
You can use ps3 to add ya phone vids to youtube aswel, download mp3s etc.
Ps3 has more to offer, 360s just crap tbh full of repetative games.

ive had both over time so ill tell you what ive experienced
my ps3 was very unreliable at times
i had to have a new one because it killed itself
some good games exclusive to 360 cant get on ps3
online very laggy at times and poor quality
but, online is free, good is you only need to go online now and again, downloads etc.
and overall a very good console

i have an xbox now, because i was sick of sharing a ps3
online is much better, but quite expensive, on the first models of the 360, you need to buy a wireless network adaptor, quite expensive, but if you want the new xbox its included
ive found xbox to be more reliable, less bugs and crashes
got the red ring of death about a week after i had it, but it survived and worked fine, no problems since (that was over 2 years ago)
some great exclusives, but still some good games exclusive to ps3, no real way of getting around that
also, xbox used to be much cheaper, but with the new features on the new xbox, it costs more, and the price of the new ps3 has come down, so theres no longer that much in it
but i suggest if you want to play online a lot, get an xbox, if it doesn't bother you much and you just want to go online occasionally, maybe for a download package or a quick game (because membership to online is free) a ps3 is for you

and if you're wondering about the new xbox kinect, or ps move
then i dont know because we dont have either

You buy one add a $100 to it for gold, battrys, play and charge kit whatever you buy, headsets are terrible compared to ps3 ones.
And biggest plus buy for ps3 is game sharing, if any of your close friends or family members own a ps3 and have bought games from psn store, you can download there games free, and visa versa. You won't get that on 360. I have 20+ games from my cousin and friend cost me nothing, I give them mine when I buy games.

to correct a mistake, the new xbox 360's have wireless access built in. you do not have to buy the adapter if you buy the new xbox.

the wireles actually works flawlessly too, i have not encountered any issues or lag with online play

Everybody gets lag on all consoles depending on who they are playing against, and what country they are from.
Uk - japan forget about it.
Uk - u.s. Fine.
Uk - france okish.
Uk - germany fine.
Uk - spain laggy.
Hence ping bards no console is better or worse for lag.

The new xbox 360.. it's supposed to be rather quiet and much nicer than the old original ones. I've tried both and I'd say the xbox 360 is the better experience but you have to pay for xbox live if you want to play online and it's much better than the ps3's online play so you get what you pay for xP

I had a ps2 and went to xbox because of my friend and I don't regret it.
