Good god yes. Unfortunately, I'm a Jackets fan, meaning I watched that asskicking we got last night, and I'm trying to remember if we've ever lost that badly before. I know we've lost 8-0 a couple times, but 9-1... Gawd, even missing a large number of players the Wings boned us with an oar.

Awful is prolly being too nice... Of all the Wings games I had to get sick before and miss, I'm glad it was that one. I almost threw up when Bertuzzi scored and got that smug grin on his face... I. Hate. Him. So. Much. Dude should never have been allowed back in the league...

What the hell is up with Mase? Last year, I could understand him sucking like that since he was sick for most of the second half of the year but... I dunno, maybe it's just nerves or whatever. Well, Anaheim tonight and Matt Garon starting. Hopefully we'll be pissed enough to win after... That. I don't even know what to call it. 'Embarrassment' is being too nice.

I'm not a hockey fan but I always think when you see two results like that, which is worse? I mean the margin is the same so is it better that you lose 9-1 on the basis that at least you scored one or better to lose 8-0 on the basis you conceded less?

Personally I haven't got anything like that in my lifetime to deal with. My football (soccer for you guys) club is Manchester United, who still hold the premier league record for biggest win (9-0). Andy Cole scored 5 in that game to hold the record for most goals scored by one player in a single game in the premier league.

No, it's football. As in a ball game played with the feet.

For me, they're both scores that'd keep me up at night if I didn't have horrible insomnia problems already. The 8-0 is an offensive nightmare, but at least the last time I can recall that happening was a while back. The 9-1... We scored, yeah. But as I found out, like, right after I posted that, one goalie let 7 or 8 of the goals in, then they switched out, the other dude let in one goal and the coach sent goalie A back to suffer with the rest of the team.

We've had a notoriously garbage-y hockey team since 2000, though (our original general manager has some severe ego problems and is unfortunately a hell of a snake oil salesman. He sucked but he got the job and kept it for what would technically be 9 seasons, even though he obviously was on a power trip and had no idea what the hell he was doing). I'm not used to losses like that bothering me so much, bad losses used to be fairly regular occurrences.

Guess that's a good sign. Ish.
