Orientation & Stuff
I have orientation tomorrow morning for my first day of work. I have to be there by 8:45, so I'm going to be getting up at like, 5AM-6AM, so I don't have to rush around and can actually have time to wake up and enjoy time for a little bit, beforehand. My nerves are gonna be on edge as it is, I haven't had a job since December and it was McDonald's, not Walmart. LOL
From what I understand, orientation is going to be going over procedures and regulations, watching "boring videos" as they were described all over the internet, playing some board game to learn about the history of Walmart, and filling out paperwork. I also read that some stores go ahead and will start us on CBLs (Computer Based Learning) assessments or wait until we come in the next scheduled day on our schedule. I've read that it will probably last about 9.5 hours, total, including breaks. I get my schedule tomorrow as well, I was told. I think it's supposed to be my schedule for the next 3 weeks! I'm hoping that perhaps they have me working starting next week, since I got my refund check in from my Pell grant, me and Brandon could really enjoy our last weekend of being bummy! LOL, I say this, because most people I have talked to said I probably would just go for orientation and then start training the following week, since their weekends are so busy, so we'll see! I kind of would think, they wouldn't want to be training new people on weekends. xD
After I get off, Brandon and I are going to Applebee's to celebrate my new job, and we are also treating it as a date, because we literally haven't had one in what seems like forever (it's been almost a year) because we usually just chill at his house and watch tv shows and whatnot. I'm still doing the whole healthy-lifestyle thing and it's my first time going to Applebee's since I began doing so. I used to always order their cheddar cheeseburger and french fries, but tomorrow night I'm gonna be eating a Caesar Grilled Chicken Salad! :) I'm excited! Then we're just going to go back to his house and watch some TV, then sleep.
