Rams Head 2010
First off, I had a terrible dream the night before that we had missed the vip... so that lead to us leaving an hour early! lol Got there around 12ish and besides rachel there was one other person until 2ish, but that was okay because she brought her ukulele :D A little after two fred came out and gave everyone their passes and we waited until they let us in for soundcheck. In that time you could hear them practicing No Matter What... but they didn't play it at soundcheck or the set later that night. Either way, at least we kind of heard it live! ;) Soundcheck was great. There was no barricade so we got right up to the stage. Jacoby's voice started to get raspy so they did a few instumental checks and we moved into the bar for the meet and greet.. Where we met two awesome roaches! haha You can never leave a Papa Roach show without adding at least one person to the roach family! When it was our time the nerves went away ( I cant say the same for my friend lol) and this time around the meet and greet was amazing. I finally found a voice! First thing I did was show Save A Ho my shirt and fork. Got high fives then joked with the guys for a little bit. We told them we wanted crazy pictures and jacoby started taking his pants off. I said he could keep them on but it's not like I would've minded xD Roach on the Range shirt was signed and I found Kaite.. I didn't know she was back with the guys but yay! After that we put our stuff in rachel's car and we were 'rerouted' to another vip line. Great timing because where we were 5th.. we were now first. Met back up with Hunter and HEather and stuck it out until they opened the doors. We had to wait about 5 minutes before we could go to the barricade because they were still setting up, but we got right on it! It's really the only way to truly experience a live band. Right up in the sweat and action! My Darkest Days were pretty good. I only knew that pornstar song but they put on a good show! TrapT was just as good as the first time I saw them.. a few years ago. Heard a few new songs and the crowd wasn't too crazy. Then... twas time for Skillet. Let me just say, you haven't seen a light show until you have seen them live. A few people were passed out and taken out of the pit because of the damn things! Great show, just a little too much light. Then things went downhill. My friend started feeling faint and wanted to leave.. I flagged down a guard and of course I got the one with a fucking anger problem. I told him she needed to get out now because she was gonna pass out and he walked away! He came back of course but I wanted to punch him for what he said. I felt terrible that one she edured all of that and didn't even get to stay for Papa Roach but thanks to Heather being amazing she followed her to the bathroom and got her a drink and sat with her for the rest of the show. After almost having a heart attack Papa Roach came on. They killed it as always. Stopped the show a few times (one for a bitch fighting with someone who eventually got kicked out, and to say hapy 21st to someone) but they didn't dissapoint. Played every new song except No Matter What. Tony threw a drumstick over but everyone was fighting for it and it fell on the floor. Eventually the guard gave it to me :D After I gave it to my friend just so she didn't miss the WHOLE experience. Overall. GREAT TIME. I would do it all again in a heart beat (and I hope to soon) but seriously... who has the advil?
